11.20.08

Last nights Creative Recreation party was awesome! More photos up soon. It was in celebration with Barney's of Creative's new Italian shoe line that I actually shot a few months ago... I actually forgot that I just shot all that stuff up until now, I seriously need to sleep more.

Today I am off to Paris! This is my first time, and I'm super excited. I really have no idea what to expect. All I know is that no matter what, its going to be a crazy one and hopefully I don't go nuts shopping.

Here is another Triumvir secret that I've kept pretty tight lipped about. This one was a bit easier, because everyone at least knew it was going down with Capcom and Street Fighter. Another thing pretty much everyone knew was that I was going to be shooting the stuff for ads. I've been shooting Triumvir's stuff for a while now, but one thing that everyone didn't know was that I've been working on a shirt for this, well sort of. I've been over seeing alot of art projects with my main man, Ray "ringboy" Young Chu. Everyone is pretty pumped about this one. I dunno if photos of this one has leaked out yet, but I don't wanna be the source, so you'll have to wait.

Guilty As Charged

Here's a little by product from my time last month when I hit the road with my guys the Gym Class Heroes on their co-headlining tour with the Roots. It was probably my best experience shooting a video which is pretty funny, since it was the smallest one I think I've been on. Anyway this song is from their latest record The Quilt that came out last month as well. Hopefully this time next week I can spill the beans on another little thing I came up with. Make sure to check out Travis and Petes art show over at Gallery 1988 next month, hopefully I'll have a little something out there as well!

One of the cool things about this job, is that you get to see everything a LONG time before it gets to come out. I've know about Triumvir's new kick with Nike for some time, but had to keep it to myself. Even my guys in my own camp didn't know about it, but now that they cat's out of the bag I'm happy that everyone is as excited about this as I am. I have to admit that actually a bigger fan of blazers, but hey who am I to complain. This was the first shot that I did of this kick, and hopefully if all goes well, nike and myself will be going places!

11.12.08

Here are some snapshots of an article that came out recently in the latest issue of status magazine. This is a pretty funny one that I actually give a pretty large amount of info in. It was pretty weird to go through all those old stories and talk about it for everyone to read. I can't believe how long it is either. I feel pretty lucky to have had such good treatment by these guys, First they gave me a cover last issue and now this. I feel like one pretty lucky guy.

11.04.08

so today I was off down south to do some work for my dudes over at Skullcandy with pro skater Pierre Luc Gagnon, or PLG as I guess most people call him. I didn't know too much about the guy to be honest with you, but when I asked my buddy Dylan over at Oakley all he said back was Woah, so I took that as a good thing. Anyway this is a pretty rough shot, that I just nabbed, because I don't really wanna spill the beans before the images drop. Anyway this shoot was pretty rushed and I was pretty bummed, because Pierre didn't have all that much time available to him, because of doctors appointments and things like that. So anyway I shot a bunch of photos and was bummed, he said that we could shoot again soon with more time available. Anyway he took I off, and I realized that he lives super close to DC Shoes, so I stopped by to visit and spend some time with them, because I hadn't been down there since I went to shoot the women's look book. During my visit, Pierre hit me up saying that he got out early and that if I was still around we could shoot more, so I went back and we were able to get a ton of much better shots. I'm pretty lucky that I like to dilly dally around alot, other wise I would have taken off and would have to have driven all the way back down to Carlsbad another day.

Anyway, here is a photo that I saw randomly that I shot with the new Mike Shinoda shoe from DC, Mike is actually wearing the shoe in this, believe it or not.

All this week I have been working in LA on a bunch things, but probably the most important thing I have been working on is this art show with my buddy Kelsey at the New Image Art Gallery. This is his first solo show in the U.S. and its pretty awesome. If you are free tomorrow, I highly advise you to come to the opening the work is pretty incredible.

I think some of my photos appear in this, I'm not actually sure, I haven't taken the time to watch the whole thing, but I figured that because its Triumvir, its for sure post worthy and I really liked the video presentation that karmaloop did with my photos last season at Magic.

Here is the latest ad that I shot for the guys over at Franco Shade. I've done a lot of work for these guys over the years and I have to say that this is one of my favorite ads that I have done for these guys, even more than the one where you got to see how large my ass has gotten over the years. This one should be in the next issue of Antenna Magazine.

I had no idea what I was doing on this one. Davey from Franco called me up last minute saying they needed me to shoot something ASAP I agreed to do it for double the usual rate, because I can demand such things and they agreed because they lag so much, and we were on set the next day. Like I said earlier I had no idea what I was doing, there was no prep or anything like that, so we just kind of showed up and figured it out. Lucky for me I was an acrobat in a previous life, and got into the ceiling to achieve this angle. I dunno how this fits in, but the next time you see Tui, grab his nuts, I dunno why, but I really like doing it.

09.19.08

I was perusing the internet as I do every morning when I wake up, and I went over to see what my pals over at the City of Others were up to. I was introduced to these guys a while ago by those Korean party machines over at Hudson jeans. Anyway earlier this year I was in Vegas for Magic, and the Steves of the City of Others shot a Polaroid with me holding these two brackets, Shortly after that they asked me if the could use the the photo for stuff, I said sure and didn't think anything really of it till now... Now I just wish I didn't look so crazy that day.

09.17.08

Here is the first sample of some of the stuff I have been doing for Mr. Steve Aoki and his crew over at Dim Mak. This ad features the magical Murs - lin. Who I was just with in the Gym Class Heroes music video for the song Cookie Jar. This thing was especially fun, because we got to do pretty much anything we want with it. Little Ray Ray went all out on this one for the illustrations. Steve actually makes a pretty awesome camo in this one as well. I'm really glad I held on to all of my old dungeon and dragons books. I have to admit, that our main referance for the dragon was from the original monsters manual. I'm not proud of that fact that I have such things on hand, but one must confront his past to over come it right?

Well, its here, its out, and i'm stoked. My photos of Jonas from LRG for Status Magazine. Those guys from the mag are really awesome to work with and hopefully I'll be able to do more with them in the future. They ran a bunch of the photos I shot of Jonas for them, and here are and example of two of them for you all to check out. I hope you all dig them. It was pretty cool to work with Jonas in this way. I shoot so much for the guy, but its never pics of him. So its kind of cool to be shooting Jonas You can actually check out the whole thing online here . Its pretty sweet and they actually interview a few of my friends in there. There last issue was also pretty awesome as well, check it out! Hopefully sooner than later you may see me grace the pages of this mag!

08.30.08

I'm Back from Vegas, and remarkably, I survived the insanity. I was out there for the Magic Fashion tradeshow. I've been out for the show numerous times and its always pretty hectic. Lots of parties, lots of booze and pretty much no sleep. I've been pretty much on a non stop travel extravaganza for work. I don't think I've spent a full week home for the past three months. But I am happy now that I can hang out at home and recover from this nonsense.

While perusing the show I noticed the Franco Shade guys featuring their latest ad with yours truly in it
Which was really cool and right by the candy where it should be. A while ago I told Arlo that The Franco stuff needed to look more gay. He looked at me quite puzzled, I said that the stuff looked kind of gay, and if they were going that way they should go all the way and make tank tops. Well, out of my fustration, I went out and made my own gay tank tops so I can now rock Franco gear the way it was ment to be, with pride!

While in Vegas I went to at least 15 or so parties in a 4 day period, I think I lost a bit of my mind there. I don't recall as much as I should, I am still sick from it, and I know I will be back there sooner than I would like to be. Mike from Fakerich and Dim Mak
put on a pretty rad party, the first night, Mike always seems to snap off pics at the right time. Anyway, go buy a copy of the new Antenna Magazine and check out the first ad I've ever been in, don't forget to thank Arlo for getting me involved with that one.

So this is kind of nuts, I just recently had one a pretty surreal experience out in Pittsburgh shooting for those Mall giants, American Eagle for their North American Music Union Festival. When I first was approached about this gig I was pretty skeptical. But upon hearing them out I found the the project was quite cool. I've kept pretty quiet about the project because I wasn't really sure how it would work out, but honestly it was really a great experience working with all those guys. Anthony Kiedis from the Red Hot Chili Peppers hosted the event where, Bob Dylan, The Raconteurs, The Roots, Gnarls Barkely, The Black Keys, Spoon, Black Mountain, Nasa, and the Tiny Masters of Today preformed. The experience all around was incredible. I really didn't get to sleep all that much since they needed all of the images ASAP, but honestly I don't know if I could have had a better time. Its also pretty cool to have my stuff on the American Eagle website.

08.16.08

It's finally here, the Gym Class Heroes new music video for their song "Cookie Jar" off of their upcoming album, The Quilt. I'm not going to dilly dally, and come up with various reasons why I am posting about this, other than the fact that one, I love these guys, I always have a great time with them and I love working with them. Two, I and quite fond of their music and three, I'M IN THIS VIDEO! I've been in there videos before making little cameos when you can barley make out my image much like any photograph of a mythological beast, but this one you can totally see me. I know this sounds really narcissistic, but I think its really cool that I am in a video, but I think its even cooler that I am in one with my friends. any way here is the video, I hope you dig it

08.08.08

Here is our most recent ad for Triumvir that's featured in the latest issue of Antenna Magazine. This is probably our most ambitious and probably my most favorite to date. I mainly worked on the art direction on this one where Ray pretty much did all the hard work. Kind of nice for a change. The guys over at Joy Engine did a really awesome post on this one for us. Way nicer and better than I could do. I really need to flex my blogging muscles a little more. Anyway the next installment of this one is going to be nuts, I can't wait.

08.06.08

Here is a new ad that I worked on for the boys at imaginary kingdom. My buddy Ray and I came up with this concept a while ago for a different project, but ended up shelving it to do something else. When we met up with these guys, we new this concept finally had a home. Hopefully this series will continue on for a while. we has alot of fun coming up with it and finding all the little elements to go into it. Anyway, this is my first of three new ads that are in Antenna Magazine. I'll post the other ones up soon.

I can't believe it, I've started working for my favorite watch company. G shock! Pretty nutty, considering the fact that I really didn't have to do anything. They hit me up! so cool . Any way, I have to give mad props to my girl Melissa K over at Casio for plugging me to them, this is really amazing.
